5 of 5 Love it! Wednesday, January 07, 2009
Chas Man from Vero Beach, FL

Great set of earbuds for the price. Paid much more for this type of earphones and still not as good as these.

5 of 5 very good headset Sunday, December 07, 2008
Sean from N. Andover, MA
I bought this for 19.99 (it was on sale for that day), and thought this wouldn't be good. It actually performs very well. The carrying case is extremely useful, the headset is comfortable, and the quality is pretty decent.

5 of 5 great Thursday, July 24, 2008
A Customer from Milpitas CA
Got these for my daughter. Her and her friends say they are great. Comfortable, great sound. She's only had stock ipod headphones and inexpensive replacements before but she says these are way better than any she has heard.

5 of 5 ACOUSTIC RESEARCH ARE05 Are Great Wednesday, July 23, 2008
gil from Orem, Utah
I have not found ear-phones as comfortable and small and yet really cutting out the other noise - these are great and especially for the price.

5 of 5 Great Earbuds! Friday, July 18, 2008
ScottE. from Gardena, CA
I own both an iPod and a Sandisk MP3 player. I also own the Etymotic ER 6i earbuds. These earbuds are great! I tested them on the iPod and it was like I was listening to the music for the first time. They play loud and have very deep bass response. You may have to adjust the bass to get a flatter audio response, but either way, when the bass is there it is there! They are also very comfortable for long periods. They block out external sounds by blocking the ear canal (not by noise cancelation), so you can't expect that type of performance. The Etymotic earbuds are much more expensive, but to my taste they are not better and they require maintenance (such as cleaning out the inevitable earwax) and they are not as durable. These are far superior to Apple's originals. Save a lot of money and get these great earbuds, you won't be sorry.

5 of 5 Can't be beat for the price Tuesday, July 15, 2008
Jack from Independence, MO
For twenty bucks, this is an awesome deal. I personally love the carrying case that is included, as I find it easy to wind up the headset and it is small and easy to carry. The case offers great protection too. As for the sound, these offer really great sound, especially for the price. I doubt if anyone can find any earphones as good as these at this price level.

5 of 5 Great Product! Tuesday, July 15, 2008
A Customer from Port Chester, NY
I have issues with many in-ear headsets falling out often. I find these to fit me perfectly right out of the box. Not a noise cancellation system, but a decent noise filtration system. Great value.

5 of 5 Great sound! Sunday, July 13, 2008
N.S. from NY, NY
I'm very happy with these headphones. The bass is solid, highs are crisp and the overall sound is full. You can't beat the price for what you get and Acoustic Research has always been a reputable company. No complaints!!

5 of 5 Worth It! Wednesday, July 09, 2008
Matt J from Chicago, IL
I have an iPhone and my headphones broke, so I looked for an alternative to the Apple headphones and found these. I was not expecting anything amazing for $20, but they are good headphones and the best for the price. On the noise-canceling end, while a song is playing even on low volume, they cancel all the noise out. However, this was just in a regular room of people talking, so I don't know how it will be on airplanes. As for the sound, I cannot really describe what the music sounds like, but it feels like your listening to a 5.1 surround sound system, so it is good. But, obviously not better then the headphones you can get for $100. If you need headphones, and want the best for $20, this is your best option. I only bought them because they were compatible with my iPhone, but having used them I would recommend them for anyone.

4 of 5 Lots of Bass, Good Price Monday, July 07, 2008
Steve from Bentonville, AR
These buds have a great deal of bass. Much more so than the Sony EX-71 or Sennheiser C-300 that I have used before. But these AR's lack the overall sound quality of the Sony or Sennheiser products. These earbuds are very comfortable and a good fit is easy to find with the multiple silicone tips. The price with free shipping is hard to beat.

5 of 5 Great Product, Great Price, Recommend Monday, July 07, 2008
Sincere from Accokeek, Maryland
These are the best earbuds I've owned. I have small ears, these buds fit securely. They really keep the noise out/music in. Not noise canceling by the noise isolating feature works great. I have to remove the buds when talking/vistening to someone. Never had to do that before. Highly recommended.

5 of 5 accurate, even sound Saturday, July 05, 2008
cedingman from Greenbelt, MD
These are the best earphones or earbuds I have had. Both high and low ends are full and clear, and in balance with the mid-range frequencies. The 3 earlier sets I bought were fine for the recorded books I usually listen to, but this pair made me start to seek out my favorite music to enjoy. I also like the choice of 3 sizes of 2 materials that lets me choose what works best for my comfort, or for retention during exercise.

4 of 5 Noise reduction is less than with active noise red Saturday, July 05, 2008
dotilla from San Diego, Ca
I bought the headphones to have a smaller set for travel to reduce noise on flights. They are very small and come in a special round box one can fold them in but it is somewhat cumbersome: an automatic folding process would have been better. Noise reduction: yes, there is some noise reduction as with anything else you plug into your ear but that's where it ends. It is not comparable with 'real' noise reduction. The sound is very good and only a little bit worse than the $90 mini Bose. Overall: not a bad deal for the money.

5 of 5 Good headphones for a great price Saturday, July 05, 2008
A Customer from DFW, TX
These are the best headphones I've ever had. I'm not one to spend a lot of money on headphones - I think $20-$30 is a reasonable amount. These are not the highest end headphones out there by far, but definitely the best value for the price. And they are SO comfortable. I have real problems finding earbuds that fit me - I have small ears, and piercings that get in the way of most earbuds. I use the smallest, softest size they provided with these, and they work great.

4 of 5 Great Sound Saturday, July 05, 2008
A Customer from Forest Hills, NY
Exceptional sound, but the noise isolation leaves a lot to be desired--at least for me. It comes with a lot of different sized "caps" that enter the ear, but none that fit me well. I settled for the large ones that do not enter the canal. I own a set of pricey ER-6's that isolate just fine. My cheap Dell set works fine for me, too.

3 of 5 Noise Isolating - not noise canceling Tuesday, July 01, 2008
Chie from WA
Just a heads up. Its not noise canceling, it does not remove the white noise. But as far as headset, its good quality.

5 of 5 Great sound. Great value. Tuesday, July 01, 2008
DaGoatRancher from Louisa, VA
I use these earbuds with a Sandisk E200 MP3 player. The sound is excellent. Clean and crisp. Tight deep bass. Comfortable in my ears. They come with several sizes of rubber ear inserts, and a nice simi-hard case to protect the earbuds while in storage. I have owned more expensive earbuds that do not perform as well. Great product, and at $20 with free shipping at Buy.com, the value is awsome.

1 of 5 Yes, its that bad Thursday, June 26, 2008
Ken Dunn from SE KY
I purchased these to use under my motorcycle helmet. My first hi end speakers back in high school were AR and I loved them. I have a set of AR cans that are pretty good also, but these were the worst I have ever heard. I have Zen, Ipod, and SanDisc in ear stock mp3 headphones-they all sound much, much better. These sound like the little things that went with your grandpas AM pocket radio. I was shocked. I don't know if mine are defective or what, they play, but it sounds so tinny that I was shocked. No bass- zip, zilch, nada. Fuzzy everything else. They are going back. What made it even worse is they came in such a nice, high gloss, well designed package.
