Basically added them to the PC's and booted up. The systems(windows xp home edition) recoginzed them as 1 gigabit cards and utilized the added band width without updating drivers. Was this review helpful?

I had an earlier model Linksys gigabit card in my PC which started to intermittently lose its network connection, especially on reboot. I decided to install a new card, and bought this latest Linksys NIC to replace it. The new card was an improved version 3, and it immediately corrected the problem and has great throughput on my home network. The price is very reasonable and the performance is top rate - buy one! I purchased this Gig switch and NIC to speed up a network that handles a lot of word documents stored on a server. Before the upgrade my PC would sit and search with the moving flashlight anywhere from 30 seconds to more than a minute while the documents loaded. With the new Gig Switch and NIC it is almost instantly loaded.
The amount of time I save is not nearly as important as the eliminated frustration of staring at that stupid little flashlight for up to 10 minutes a day.
Due to supply, I also purchased a non Linksys gig NIC and the Linksys installation was much simpler. Was this review helpful?
